Szádvár Nature Trail (Szögliget)
Distance: 4.5 km (2.8 miles)
Duration: approximately 3 hours
The circle-route departs and ends from the Salamander House in Szögliget. There are no separate blazes for this trail, which simply follows the route of the regular tourist path. When you encounter branches in the trail, just follow the arrows. Along the way, familiarise yourself with the karst and mountain landscapes, Mediterranean and the continental steppe species. The turn-around point is marked by one of the most significant cultural and historical values in the region, the imposing ruins of Szád Castle.
