Reconstruction Works in the Caves of the Aggtelek National Park Directorate



Dear Visitor!


We would like to call your kind attention that due to reconstruction works carried out between the period of 13th September – 20th December 2012, the caves of the Aggtelek National Park Directorate will be closed according to the following schedule:


13th September 2012 – 30th September 2012:         Vass Imre Cave
20th September 2012 – 13th October 2012:               Rákóczi Cave
1st October 2012 – 31 October 2012:                           Baradla Cave, the routes of Vörös Lake (Red Lake) Tour and Jósvafő Short Tour
5th November 2012 – 20th December 2012:               Baradla Cave, the route of Aggtelek Short Tour


The project is aiming to modernize illumination in the caves, energy-efficient, environmentally sound Led-lightning will be installed in order to minimize the impacts caused by lightning and to avoid developing lamp-flora in the caves. The program is supported and will be realised in the frame of the KEOP- No.3.1.2/2F/09-2009-0015 EU-project.

We would like to apologize for any possible inconveniences caused by the reconstruction works.
