Ore Mining and Mineral Museum
The Rudabánya Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Mining Museum shows the history of mining in Hungary from the earliest times to the present day. The museum hosts one of the largest exhibitions of minerals in the country, as well as a copy of the remains of a Rudapithecus hungaricus prehistoric ape from the late Miocene found near Rudabánya. The museum, housed in an underground man-made tunnel, displays a broad range of mining techniques and tools. A complete mine smithy can also be studied here.
