Following a brief presentation at the Education Centre, there will be a short walking tour at night away from the light pollution to a place where guests can learn about the spring constellations through telescopes. Away from the city lights, the constellations are visible to the naked eye. Conservation experts and astronomers will introduce guests to this unique world – the protected natural areas of the night sky. As part of International Dark Sky Week, all of Hungary’s 10 national parks are organising Dark Sky or Star Gazing Tours. Celebrate the stars! Created in 2003 by high-school student Jennifer Barlow, International Dark Sky Week has grown to become a worldwide event and a key component of Global Astronomy Month. “I want to help preserve its wonder." – Jennifer Barlow Dark Sky Week Goals - Inspire people to celebrate the beauty of the night sky - Raise awareness about the negative effects of light pollution - Embolden folks to Take Action!
