Aggtelek National Park recently won a tender from the European Regional Development Fund and the Hungarian Government to finance a project (KEHOP-4.1.0-15-2016-00015) to protect its UNESCO World Heritage Site designated caves, and make interventions to conserve both these geological treasures and vulnerable wildlife in the area. The project budget is 306.7 million forint and will be implemented under the Operational Programme for Environmental and Energy Efficiency.
