The LIFE + (L'Instrument Financier pour l'Environnement) Programme was established in 1992 as an instrument to support the European Union's environmental policy. LIFE + focuses on three areas: "Nature and Biodiversity," "Environmental Policy and Governance," and "Information and Communication." Hungary has been participating in the LIFE +Programme since 2001. Since then, a number of conservation and environmental projects have been realised with the support of the European Union, for example significant habitat reconstruction.
